Genome instead of Grundnorm

After spending few years learning stuff like Grundnorm, I spent one of my weekend listening to stuff like Genome at the International Fame Lab 2015 (KL). It was held at Mindvalley, Bangsar. The first thing that caught my attention was the beanie bags that was placed all over the hall. The participants came from all walks of life with different academic background and profession. Ranging from a SPM leaver right up to a PhD holder. The participants spoke on a wide range of topics too. Global warming, fibre optic, bread, etc.I was there to support a friend of mine who decided to speak on water bear.  Something very new to me. Something very interesting. A unique creation of God that has very unique abilities that keep them alive. I met up with her the night before. I can tell that she was very nervous. Nevertheless, I honestly thinks that she did very well on that day.

Apparently, only 10 finalist will be chosen for the national final round which will be held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I hereby wish her all the best. Hopefully, her hard work will pay off and be selected for the national final rounds. She won awards for such presentation before. Let this not be an exception.

Schoolgirl

After taking a break for almost three months, we meet up again for another 'photo shoot' outing. The idea or theme we had in mind is schoolgirl. However, we are getting more and more comments that it looks like the Death Note concept. We are very much surprised by such comments. Wan Chi did not watch the movie, Death Note. Although, I watched the movie few time when it was shown on TV. I can hardly remember the story line. How could I have remember the way the actor or actress dressed in the movie. Well, take a good look at the photos and judge for yourself.

This photo was taken when we were about to call it a day. The background for this photo is grass and trees. I honestly thought of asking her to sit on the wooden railing which is next to the water. Then, the background would be the lake instead of the trees. On second, I decided not to do so. We do not want to take any risk or possibility of her falling into the lake. This railing and banister stuff reminds me of the topic of Occupiers' Liability Act that I came across back in law school

"When you invite a person into your house you do not invite him to slide down the banisters."

When Wan Chi told me to get an apple as props because it is closely related to the idea of education. I thought it is because of Sir Isaac Newton. When I did some research about it, it shows otherwise. The idea of giving an apple to a teacher as a sign of gratitude reminds me that my lecturer once used this concept to illustrate the idea of legal convention.

The idea of taking photos without showing the person face was suggested by Wan Chi. The outcome turns out to be amazing. Its time to think of new ideas and concept for our photo shoot outing.

Besaraya Emergency Response Team

Ever since I started working, I use the Besraya Highway on a regular basis. I must say that I am very impress  with their emergency response team, also known as the Besronda Team. When everything is going on smoothly, one can easily spot one or two Besronda personnel on a motorcycle. In the event a motor vehicle breakdown or a motor vehicle accident occur, more often than not, the Besronda team will be there. They arrive faster than any 'call man' or tow truck operator. I truly hope that the rest of the highway emergency response team will be as efficient as the Besronda team.

First Photography Outing of The Year

After several months of waiting for my buddy to return to Malaysia, we finally met up and did something both of us enjoy doing, taking photos. Both us are neither professional photographer nor professional model. I used to joke with my friends that this (photography) is probably the only creative side of a law student. We do it just for the fun of it. This time we decided to try some very different. No more castle as venue. No more cowgirl or skater girl. We intended it to be a Gothic theme. The result look more like vampire theme.

Wan Chi was really well prepared for this outing. The clothing, the accessories, the make up, etc. So much of preparation was done on her part to the point that it kinda put the pressure on me to play my part to the fullest of my potential. One wouldn't want to disappoint others by performing badly when others have took the trouble and hassle to prepare for the outing.

This is probably the first shot that we took. We were trying to take as many shot at as many location as possible knowing that we were running on very limited camera battery.

Sexy back? Haha

After doing so many 'photo shoot' together, we learnt to explore the possibility of taking photos from more than one angle, not only from the front. Hence, we tried taking several shots from the back and the above photo is one of them. I certainly did not dictate the way she was suppose to stand or the direction that she was suppose to look. Everything was free and easy. Both of us are very satisfied with the outcome.

Since so much of time and effort has been invested in preparing for this outing, we agreed to try various posses, which includes sitting down as well as lying on the grass. All this was discussed several days before the actual day. During our discussion, she (jokingly) said that now that she has agreed to lie on the grass (with a bare back clothing), I have to ensure that every shot I take is worth it. After walking almost the entire park, looking for a good green spot, Wan Chi kept her word and just went ahead and lie down on the grass.

One might begin to wonder why am I putting so much of emphasis on the fact that my buddy lied on the grass. In my humble opinion, not many girls would be willing to the same. There's hundred and one reasons for them to not to do so. Grass, dirt, soil, insect, etc. The discomfort that she has to put up with during and AFTER lying on the grass caused me to appreciate her contribution to this photo shoot even more. The only thing I regret is that I forgot to to take some shots by standing in front of her when she was on the grass. Who knows what the outcome would have been like.

This is one of our favourite photo. It is currently being used as her blog header.
Looking forward to many more adventure to come.

See How Time Flies

After having abandon this blog for many years, I have decided to revive it again. As I browse through all the blog entry that I wrote last time, I realise how time flies. In October 2009, I wrote about my first ATC CF meeting. Now, I am the former ATC CF president. I wrote about a farewell party for one of my sister in Christ who was about to leave for UK to pursue her legal studies. Today, she is an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Hope I will make full use of this blog to express my thoughts and opinions. This blog will continue to be a place for me to note down significant events in my life.
